Geometry
The Quake is built upon a frame featuring adjustable geometry to yield numerous configurations to suit a variety of trails and preferences. Flip chips are easy to reconfigure trailside and are quickly changed using a 6mm hex wrench. They require no additional parts and incorporate laser-etched graphics that indicate the position of the chips.

FRAME & TRAVEL
The Series 4 Aluminum frame features the MultiTrac 2 LT suspension platform with 180mm travel. MultiTrac 2 LT shifts the rear pivots to the chainstay, ensuring that the suspension performance matches our design goals. The benefits of relocating the rear pivot points from the seatstay to the chainstay reduces anti-rise, allowing for better chassis control while braking, more mid-stroke support, and better feel at bottom out. Furthermore, relocation of the pivots provides the added benefit of allowing for adjustable chainstay lengths and bottom bracket heights.

FLIP CHIPS
Integrated flip chips allow the rider to quickly and easily choose from multiple configurations, based on terrain and equipment preference. Chainstay length and bottom bracket height can be set to low BB/long CS, or high BB/short CS. Those who prefer to run the Quake with a 29” rear wheel instead of the stock 27.5” can change the position of the seatstay chips to accommodate the larger diameter rear wheel.

PROTECTION
Chainstays and seatstays are protected with durable rubber guards to minimize noise and protect paint finishes, and a mudflap positioned over the lower suspension pivot keeps spray and muck off the bearings. There's an integrated lower downtube guard and an upper downtube shuttle pad to protect the frame when hanging over a tailgate. Cable ports are of an all-new design and keep the frame innards sealed. These ports use rubber membranes punctured during initial assembly and seal around the housing or hose once inserted.

HEADTUBE AND HEADSET COMPATIBILITY
The Quake’s headtube is a 56ZS (56mm diameter, zero stack) to maximize aftermarket headset options for reach and headtube angle adjustments. Furthermore, the frame is also compatible with most appropriate single crown forks, with 29” or 27.5” front wheels. Riders who switch to 27.5” wheels need to use a 10-15mm external lower cup for 180-190mm single crown or 200mm dual crown forks.
Reviews
The new Quake is another strong addition to Marin's lineup. It's well equipped for the price, and could be a good option for riders who are tired of abusing their enduro or trail bikes in the bike park.
I already gushed about the Alpine Trail’s ride quality at length, so the short version is: like that, but more. More travel, more confidence, more smash-ability. I spent an afternoon at the Whistler Bike Park on a mix of tech and jump trails, and the Quake ate it all up. It’s fun and predictable to jump, it’s stable and confident in the steeps, it does all the things you’d want it to do.
It’s all the bike most gravity-focused riders will ever need in a practical package, though. Plus, it’ll sure put a big smile on your face when you launch off the first kicker.
A great tool for ripping park laps and getting rowdy.
