REAR SHOCK SET UP

Recommended Sag = 30%/19.5mm

Step 1: Set correct pressure in rear shock.

Step 2: Sit on the bike and cycle the suspension (*with correct riding gear).

Step 3: Reset O-ring and sit on the bike, DO NOT BOUNCE, carefully step off.

Step 4: Measure sag (from o-ring to seal of shock), If it does not match the bike’s recommended sag in millimeters repeat process.

Step 5: Adjust rebound setting to ensure proper control.

FORK SET UP

Marin recommends that all bikes front and rear suspension feel balanced

Step 1: After rear sag is set follow the recommended pressure from the fork manufacture.

Step 2: Bounce evenly up and down on the bike, cycling the suspension up and down to make sure both front and rear suspension feel balanced, if the front does not match the rear add or release pressure.

Step 3: Once the bike feels balanced adjust the rebound damping to ensure proper control.

Reseñas

FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS: At $6,299 (USD), Vital highly recommends the Marin Alpine Trail E2. It is a solid, no-frills machine from a long-established brand with local dealer support. Everything about the E2 is tried-and-true, and it has plenty of power and motor/battery customization options for versatile riding situations. We loved that it was spec’d with a coil shock, and the FOX suspension does everything it’s supposed to, keeping the bike composed at speed yet playful at the park. We’d opt for beefier tires to really push the E2, but outside of that, our criticisms are few and far between. The ride, the price and support make the Marin Alpine Trail E2 one our favorite e-MTBs of 2021.

Even though my time with the Alpine Trail E2 was brief, it’s abundantly clear Marin has nailed it straight out of the blocks with its first attempt an ebike. By using the tried-and-tested Alpine Trail platform, incorporating Shimano’s newest EP8 drive unit, and giving the bike geometry numbers that maximize capability and fun on the climbs and descents it's a very appealing entry into their lineup. I’m already wondering how I can persuade Marin to let me keep the bike a bit longer...

Capable, fun, comfortable and affordable, the Alpine Trail E2 is a top performer.

Versatile and entertaining enough that getting to the gravity-fueled goods is almost as enjoyable as the downhills themselves.

"If you're looking for a quality build with solid design features, plus some of the best handling available, the Alpine Trail E2 is a contender."
