Meet Lucas

  • WHO IS Lucas Rohrmoser? I grew up in southern Bavaria but have been living in Innsbruck for about 8 years now. At the age of 15, I started racing DH and Enduro with two friends in Germany, and over time, across Europe. These days, I prefer to spend my free time on bike trips and generally searching for new cool trails (ideally with lots of airtime).
  • MUST-HAVE MTB ACCESSORIES FOR A RIDE? Multitool, water with magnesium, bars, and a banana
  • WHAT WOULD YOUR LUXURY ITEM BE ON A DESERT ISLAND? Probably my bike and a shovel for building trails. This would keep me entertained.
  • WHAT BIKE FRAME SIZES DO YOU RIDE? XL (I`m 190 cm)
  • WHAT`S THE BEST ADVICE ON BIKING YOU´VE EVER RECEIVED? I struggled with learning the Suicide No Hander until a friend advised me to approach it in a Deathgrip. This made it much easier for me to lift my hands off the handlebars while in the air. I still use this trick occasionally when I have trouble with a particular jump.
  • HOW DID YOU GET SPONSORED / GET INTO MARIN? The shop that sponsored me along with my racing team was a Marin partner, and in 2020, they asked us if we'd be interested in riding the new Alpine Trail for the next season. I immediately felt quite comfortable on the bike, and over the following years, the collaboration with Marin deepened more and more.
  • FAVORITE PLACE TO RIDE BIKE? The trails around Innsbruck are pretty impressive. However, there are still too few official trails here. In New Zealand, for example, they are much more advanced in this regard. It seems like every small town has its own trail center. My absolute dream spot is the Wynyard Jump Park in Queenstown and the nearby trails. There are the best-built jumps I have ever ridden. Especially the "Dream Track," probably the largest publicly accessible jump line in the world, is absolutely amazing.
  • FAVORITE EVENT YOU ATTENDED? Definitely this year’s Sölden Bike Opening followed by the Marin DACH Team Days. It was a fantastic experience with great people, fun shoots, and lots of time on various bikes.
  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO BIKE? Video clips from other bikers, especially when they are creatively made with cool soundtrack.
  • WHAT´S YOUR GO TO FOOD / DRINK AFTER A RIDE? A non-alcoholic Russ (Wheat beer with lemonade), It’s isotonic and very refreshing :)
