Suspension Setup
REAR SHOCK SETUP
Recommended Sag = 30%/15mm
Step 1: Set correct pressure in rear shock.
Step 2: Sit on the bike and cycle the suspension (*with correct riding gear).
Step 3: Reset O-ring and sit on the bike, DO NOT BOUNCE, carefully step off.
Step 4: Measure sag (from o-ring to seal of shock), If it does not match the bike’s recommended sag in millimeters repeat process.
Step 5: Adjust rebound setting to ensure proper control.
FORK SETUP
Marin recommends that all bikes front and rear suspension feel balanced
Step 1: After rear sag is set follow the recommended pressure from the fork manufacture.
Step 2: Bounce evenly up and down on the bike, cycling the suspension up and down to make sure both front and rear suspension feel balanced, if the front does not match the rear add or release pressure.
Step 3: Once the bike feels balanced adjust the rebound damping to ensure proper control.

Reviews
It feels like a mantra by now, but let me say it one more time - the Rift Zone is a bike that exceeds its' numbers when it comes to downhill capability and performance. You could definitely jump into a low-stakes enduro race here and there, knowing you won't be terribly under-gunned, and it definitely won't hold you back on the local hot laps. Though the suspension performance biases a bit towards the descent, I wouldn't hesitate to spend a long day pedaling the Marin to access fun and challenging terrain.
As a more budget-conscious option for trail riders looking for a pleasant pedaling machine with a healthy serving of capability, the new Rift Zone hits the mark very well. It’ll still hold on for most of the gnarlier terrain if you find yourself in the remit of an enduro rig, albeit requiring a slightly more delicate touch. Most importantly though, it’ll climb relatively efficiently, and pop and play happily on groomed terrain, making for a great fun all-rounder. It definitely ticks that “fun” box.
While the headlines are filled with bikes that would blow most people's budgets into smithereens, Marin has managed to deliver a fine trail bike at a realistic price. It might not have passing riders rubber necking at the trail head, it might not come with a long bullet point list of features, but if you prefer to let your riding do the talking rather than strut about preening your feathers on something that cost the equivalent of a house deposit, then the Rift Zone won't disappoint.
In the Rift Zone XR, Marin have done the basics very well indeed. At just under three thousand pounds, the Rift Zone XR gives you a ride feel that you have had to pay far more before now in order to experience.
At 3,499 euros Rift Zone XR offers everything the rider needs to start having fun on every trail, from the local ones to the most remote alpine singletrack
A bike that makes you smile all ride long
