Marin Launches New Coast Trail Kids Bike Family
Lightweight and with 16”, 20” & 24” Wheel Options
This One's For The Kids
Marin is proud to announce the release of our new from the wheels-up Coast Trail family of kids' bikes.
Since weight is an important consideration for younger riders, the Coast Trail models feature lightweight aluminum frames and forks, as well as lightweight components such as aluminum handlebars, stems, cranks and rims, across the model range. The weight savings make the bike more comfortable and controllable for those still new to cycling, and help instill confidence by making the bikes easier to ride than heavier models that use steel frames and/or forks. Frames are designed with generous standover clearance as well, letting kids easily straddle their bikes. Internal cable routing on all models gives the bikes a nice, clean appearance, and 20” & 24” Coast Trail models include downtube bosses for bottle cages.
But the Coast Trail bikes are more than just lightweight frames. Our Product Development team worked closely with Marin staffers who have kids at home, and made sure that the Coast Trail models had kid-proportioned touch points. You’ll find smaller saddles, narrower diameter grips, and pedals with smaller platforms, along with special short-reach brake levers, all designed around kids’ statures. Those short-reach brake levers pull on simple and proven linear pull brakes for safe slowing and stopping.
Special Marin/Vee Tire Speedster tires balance smooth and easy rolling with an inverted tread down the center, and low-profile side and shoulder knobs that provide additional traction for when the rider ventures off the sidewalk and onto neighborhood paths.
