Marin Expands Alcatraz Collection
Now With Two Builds – Suspension & Rigid
Take your pick - suspension with hydraulic brakes or rigid with mechanical. Or build up your dream dirt jumper from the frame kit.
Rejoice! We've expanded the Alcatraz line of dirt jump mountain bikes. A modern mainstay of the our lineup, the model family grows from a single model and frameset to two different builds and an Alcatraz 2 frame kit.
The Alcatraz frames were designed in conjunction with Marin ambassador/MTB legend Matt Jones, and the Alcatraz 2 and 1 models utilize the same frames and are available in two sizes, short or long, with 385mm or 430mm reach measurements respectively. Both sizes have the same 69° headtube and seattube angles and 395mm chainstays. Key component differences between the two models include a Manitou Circus fork and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes on the Alcatraz 2, whereas the Alcatraz 1 is built around a suspension-corrected CrMo fork and Tektro mechanical disc brakes.
